Finnish translations
	Let me introduce myself: my name is Elina Aaltonen, and I work as a Finnish translator and interpreter in Groningen, the Netherlands. My native language is Finnish, and I have received my school and university education in Helsinki, Finland. I graduated from the University of Helsinki in English and German Philology in 1989. Since 1989 I have been living in the Netherlands, working as a translator. From 1990 to 1999 at the translation agency f.a.x. Translations and as of 1999 as a free-lancer. I translate different types of texts, e.g. commercial, technical, juridical and nautical, such as advertisements, certificates, travel guides, manuals, press releases, business correspondence, summons, judgements and subtitles. Besides written translations, I offer interpreting services in Dutch-Finnish-Dutch and in English-Finnish-English. I have worked as an interpreter, e.g. in investigations of the Dutch police and in meetings of a European Works Council. As of 1990 I am a sworn translator. Language lessons
	Would you like to learn Finnish? Or brush up your English? Or are you a foreigner who needs to learn Dutch? I can teach you individually or in small groups. I completed my studies as a language teacher at the University of Helsinki in 1989. Before I moved to the Netherlands, I taught English at two primary schools in Helsinki. Apart from my work as a translator I have taught Finnish in courses organised by the Scandinavian translation and information agency SVIN in Groningen as well as given private lessons. Bilingual upbringing
	I am married to a Dutchman, and our son born in 1998 is bilingual. I have spoken Finnish with him from the start, and he has learnt both languages in a natural way.
